The Stations of the Cross – a series of Lenten Talks
Will take place on Thursday 23rd February, 1st March and 8th March in Holy Family Pastoral Centre, 222 Limestone Road. Suggested offering for the 3 evening course is £15. The Stations of the Cross began during pilgrimages to Jerusalem. Now, many, if not most Churches have a depiction of the fourteen Stations .This series of 3 Lenten talks will stop at a number of those images to examine the Biblical texts related to them and also examine what the outworking of those images might mean for our lives today. We will look at the depictions of Jesus’ interactions along the Way of the Cross as a demonstration that he walked to his death in the same way he walked throughout his life – with dignity, with a view to the marginalised and in a way that challenged the misuse of power.
