The annual report to parishioners, prepared by the Pastoral Council, is published this weekend as the Church liturgical year comes to an end.
The Pastoral Council consists of 13 members that are representative of our parish community – 10 lay members and 3 clergy. We work co-responsibly with the parish clergy team, aiming to build and promote a vibrant, Christian community. We are concerned only with pastoral matters – not administration, buildings or finance.
This annual report, which covers the period from September ’24 to August ’25, is an overview of the work of the Pastoral Council and also, most importantly, a summary of the life of our parish over that time.
During that period the Pastoral Council focused on the development of four key areas – the Season of Creation, the Centenary of the Canonisation of St Therese, Prayer in the Jubilee Year and Youth Ministry. This report gives details regarding these areas and the activities that our parish was involved in.
The number and variety of these activities and initiatives demonstrates how our parish mission statement is put into practice every single day – our faith and worship builds up a praying community and our welcome, hospitality and outreach builds up a caring community, all of which is centred in Christ.
We encourage you to spend a few minutes reading the report which I hope you will find uplifting and heartening. If you would like further information about anything that is included in the report or if you have any comments or suggestions as we go forward, please do not hesitate to speak to a Pastoral Council Member or contact the Parish Office.
